Once You're There
If you have extra time before or after the wedding, Cuernavaca has plenty to explore

Jardín Borda
The Jardín Borda, with its stunning green areas and its magnificent mansion, was built in the XVIII century, as a resting site by the entrepreneur miner José de la Borda, The richest man of its time in Nueva España.

This garden was also the summer house of the Emperor Maximiliano de Habsburgo.

Cuernavaca Cathedral
A centuries-old cathedral with peaceful courtyards and stunning frescoes, the kind of place that instantly makes you whisper.
Even if you’re not into architecture, the calm and beauty are worth the visit.

Palace of Cortés
Palace built in Cuernavaca by Indians in the service of Hernán Cortés, which for many years was seen as a symbol of Spanish rule over the natives of ancient Mesoamerica.

Tepoztlán (30 minutes away)
A charming mountain town said to be a source of mystical energy. Locals believe it’s home to ancient spiritual forces (and maybe a UFO sighting or two). Hike up to the Tepozteco Pyramid for jaw-dropping views or skip the sweat and explore the colourful artisan market below
